1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup rice milk or water
1 tsp baking soda (bicarbonate of soda)
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups rice flour
1/2 cup carob powder mixed with
1/2 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cups bean flour
3 tsp xanthan gum
dash of salt
1. Mix sugars and shortening.
2. Add milk or water.
3. Mix carob and soda and add to mixture.
4. Add vanilla, flours, and a pinch of salt.
5. Bake at 325 degrees F (163 C) for about 60 minutes.
